Congratulations to Chief Linthorne as he settles into retirement!
Fire Chief Carl Linthorne retired on September 17, 2021 from the Inter-Township Fire Department (ITFD) after a successful 37-year career. He began his career with ITFD in 1984 as a Firefighter "Driver", later serving as Fire Chief beginning in May 1994 until his retirement.

Proof of Vaccination Required at Township Recreation Facilities

As directed by the Province of Ontario, and in accordance with O. Reg. 364/20 Section 2.1 of Schedule 1, individuals entering recreational facilities within the Township must show identification and proof of two doses of an authorized COVID-19 vaccination, effective September 22, 2021. Recreation facilities include the Shallow Lake Community Centre, Derby Community Centre, and the Kemble Arena.

Due to a number of previous Household Hazardous Waste Days being cancelled in accordance with Provincial regulations, the City of Owen Sound has added an additional event, scheduled for this Saturday September 25, 2021.
Saturday’s Household Hazardous Waste Event will take place at the Public Works building, located at 1900 20th Street East Owen Sound and operate from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit will be hosting an in-vehicle, pop-up vaccination clinic in the Shallow Lake Community Centre parking lot on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 3-7 p.m. Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations will be available and no appointment is required.
