Georgian Bluffs Trail
The Township also maintains the Georgian Bluffs Trail on the former CN Rail Line running from Parkhead through Shallow Lake and Benallen into Owen Sound. Use of the trail is controlled by the Georgian Bluffs Trail By-Law. Please submit an application form to obtain your permit for permitted motorized use of the Georgian Bluffs Trail.
Parks
The Township has several municipally maintained parks:
- Sarawak Family Park
- Cedar Hill Park
- Centennial Park
Conservation Areas
For those that want to hike and view nature a little closer, there are many conservation and management areas throughout the Township. These properties are managed by the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority. www.greysauble.on.ca
"The Glen" is located on Grey Road 17, north of Owen Sound. This management area offers hiking on the Bruce Trail as well as varied forests, pond and ancient shore boulders.
The Kemble Mountain Management Area is located just north of the hamlet of Kemble on Kemble Rock Road. Hiking and skiing is available at this site as well as a panoramic view of Georgian Bay and Kemble.
Lindenwood Management area is on the edge of the escarpment north of Springmount.
Skinner's Bluff Management Area can be found east of Wiarton and offers a spectacular photo op of Georgian Bay and the islands.
There are also many conservation areas with the Township. These include Colpoy's Lookout, east of Wiarton, and Lake Charles Conservation Area which can be accessed from Concession 24.
