Georgian Bluffs is thrilled to offer drop-in pickleball! We have prepared two arenas for new and seasoned pickleball enthusiasts to enjoy one of the fastest-growing sports in Canada three days a week.
Where and When
Drop-in pickleball sessions takes place at these locations:
- Tuesdays: Kilsyth Arena, Concession Rd 7, Kilsyth from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Wednesdays: None
- Thursdays: Kilsyth Arena, Concession Rd 7, Kilsyth from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Fridays: Kemble Arena, 319897 Kemble Rock Rd, Kemble from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pickleball will continue at the Shallow Lake Arena until the ice is installed for winter, while Kemble and Kilsyth will continue to offer pickleball into the fall as the weather allows. Please note that arenas are closed on statutory holidays.
Cost and Equipment
The entry fee for participation is $3.00 and will feature two dedicated pickleball courts. We will have beginner equipment available, including paddles and balls, for those who need them.
Rules and Guidelines
The game of Pickleball was developed so that all members of a family could participate, so the rules were kept simple. Many of the rules are an adaptation from tennis, table tennis and badminton.
To ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask participants familiarize themselves with the game play rules and etiquette. We will be posting game play rules, adapted from Pickleball Canada, at the arenas. Beginners can also find helpful information at Pickleball Canada's Basic Rules website.
Georgian Bluffs Pickleball Club
In addition to the Township-run drop in sessions, you can join the Georgian Bluffs Pickleball Club, a member-run, non-profit club launching at Kemble Arena.
At Georgian Bluffs Pickleball Club, they embrace diversity and welcome members of all abilities, from beginners to advanced players. Their aim is to provide a fun, fair, and safe environment for everyone, offering recreational and competitive programs for children, youth, and adults. We also provide guidance and basic coaching to new players and first-time drop-ins.
