To raise awareness and support those affected by Alzheimer's and Dementia, the Township of Georgian Bluffs is officially recognizing January as Alzheimer's Awareness Month. This initiative aims to bring attention to the challenges faced by individuals living with Alzheimer's and their families, while promoting understanding and sharing available resources.
Alzheimer's and Dementia impacts not just those diagnosed, but also their caregivers and loved ones. In Georgian Bluffs, a growing number of families are touched by this condition, so throughout the month of January, the Township will be lighting up electronic signs blue, flying the Alzheimer’s Society flag, and sharing messages from the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
Georgian Bluffs encourages all residents to show their support by reaching out to friends, neighbours, and loved ones who are impacted by Alzheimer’s, and to get in touch with the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce to take action. You can make a donation, volunteer, fundraise, and more.
By declaring January as Alzheimer's Awareness Month, Georgian Bluffs is taking a step in creating a supportive environment for those affected by Alzheimer's. The Township is dedicated to fostering a community that is informed, compassionate, and engaged in the fight against this condition.
