UPDATE
Township of Georgian Bluffs – December 26, 2022
The Township remains under a Significant Weather Event due to this extraordinary storm. It is taking longer than usual to return roads to optimal conditions, and we appreciate your patience. Plow operators have been out in full force all weekend battling these unprecedented conditions. They have been on the road today since 3 a.m., with continued snowfall and drifting posing a challenge.
Please report areas of particular concern at www.georgianbluffs.ca/contactgb. We appreciate everyone making public safety your top priority by continuing to avoid non-essential travel.
Today’s garbage and recycling collection has been missed in some areas due to unsafe conditions. Missed areas will be completed on the next regularly scheduled pickup day, and the 4-bag maximum limit will be waived.
We sincerely thank our equipment operators who spent their Christmas clearing roads instead of home with their families. Thank you for your continued patience as they work.
UPDATE
Township of Georgian Bluffs – December 24, 2022
Plow operators are out clearing as conditions allow, but it is slow going with high winds as snow continues to accumulate. We anticipate travel will be impacted for the next 24-48 hours, and encourage everyone to stay off the roads, stay home and stay safe for the time being.
Thank you to our equipment operators for their continued hard work during the Holidays.
UPDATE
Township of Georgian Bluffs – December 23, 2022
After a full day of plowing in deteriorating conditions, our operators have temporarily ceased due to high winds and low visibility. They will resume winter maintenance at 3:00 a.m., and we encourage everyone to avoid travelling until conditions improve.
Thank you to our equipment operators for their hard work.
