Facilities Master Plan

The Township is developing a Facilities Master Plan to guide the long-term use, upgrades, and sustainability of our municipal buildings. This includes a full review of seven major Township buildings—most of which are over 50 years old.

Buildings under review:

• Kemble Arena (1980)

• Derby Arena (1967, extended 1976)

• Shallow Lake Arena (1977, extended 2010)

• Sarawak Shop (1973)

• Derby Shop (1994)

• Keppel Shop (1972)

• Township Administration Offices (2001, extended 2011)

This plan will evaluate the condition, use, accessibility, and climate resilience of each facility and propose a phased approach to upgrades and potential replacements.

• Supports the Corporate Climate Action Plan

• Aligns with the Asset Management Plan

• Helps implement the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and the Recreation and Trails Master Plan

• Provides a long-term strategy to modernize and maintain public infrastructure

As a result of budget pressures, the work on the Facilities Master Plan has had to be delayed. A new timeline, when known, will be shared on this page.
