At the start of each Council term, the Township of Georgian Bluffs Council will select Committee and Board members for appointment to Committees and Boards, or will recruit when a position becomes available throughout the term.

Current Vacancies

Property Standards Committee

The Township of Georgian Bluffs is looking for passionate community members to serve on the Property Standards Committee to fill three (3) positions for a four-year term (November 2026 to November 2030).

About the Opportunity

As a member of the Committee, you’ll:

Conduct a review of Property Standards Appeal applications and issue a decision within 14 days of the scheduled hearing.
The Committee may confirm, modify, rescind or extend the time to comply with the Property Standards Order.

Who Can Apply?

We’re looking for individuals who:

Be at least 18 years of age, reside in or own property in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Expertise or interest in areas such as building and by-law enforcement, or board experience.
Able to attend monthly meetings, and access to a computer to participate in meetings and review meeting materials

Meeting Details

Meetings of the Committee will only be called following receipt of a property standards appeal but will occur during the daytime between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Committee of Adjustment

The Township of Georgian Bluffs is looking for passionate community members to serve on the Committee of Adjustment to fill three (3) positions for a four-year term (November 2026 to November 2030).

About the Opportunity

As a member of the Committee under the Planning Act, 1990, you’ll:

Make decisions on minor variance applications.
Make decisions on consent (severance) applications.
Ensure that proposals align with the Township’s Zoning By-Law, Official Plan, and other applicable legislation.
Consider community needs, input and feedback from commenting agencies.

Who Can Apply?

We’re looking for individuals who:

Be at least 18 years of age, reside in or own property in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Expertise or interest in areas such as land use planning or Board experience.
Able to attend monthly meetings, and access to a computer to participate in meetings and review meeting materials.

Meeting Details

Meetings of the Committee are held online monthly on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.

Inter Township Joint Board of Management

The Township of Georgian Bluffs is looking for passionate community members to serve on the Inter Township Joint Board of Management to fill one (1) position for a four-year term (November 2026 to November 2030).

The Inter Township Joint Board of Management is responsible for the management of the jointly operated fire service between the Township of Georgian Bluffs and the Municipality of Meaford.

About the Opportunity

As a member of the Board you’ll:

Provide oversight through policy setting related to fire department operations for compliance with the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997.
Endorse the annual budget for adoption by the respective municipalities.

Experience and expertise in areas such as municipal government or fire services.

Meetings of the Board are held quarterly on the third Tuesday of the month at 2:00 p.m.
