  • Be a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old.
  • Be qualified to vote in the municipality by:
    • living in the municipality, or
    • owning or renting property in the municipality, or

Are you on the Voter's List?

Elections Ontario now manages the Voter's List for Municipal and Provincial Elections. Check to see if you're on the list and make sure your information is up to date. If you need to update your information, add, or remove yourself from the list you can update it with Elections Ontario until August 12, 2026.

Is your school support designation correct?

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) manages registered school support designations. Even if you don’t have children or your children aren’t currently attending school, you do have the option to choose which school board you support. If you don’t make a choice, your support will default to the English-Public school board. Making sure your school support reflects your preference ensures you're on the correct voters list for the municipal and school board elections. You can check or update this information with MPAC until June 1, 2026.

If you miss the deadlines above, you can apply to update your information with election staff commencing on September 1, 2026.
