Celebrate Canada Day the Big Bay Way
Start your Canada Day with a celebration that brings together community, nature, and fun at the Big Bay Dock.
On Tuesday, July 1st, join us bright and early for a refreshing yoga session on the dock at 8:00 a.m., led by Julie Bradley-Low, CYT, of Stonegrove Farm & Wellness Studio. Then at 9:00 AM, gather with friends and neighbours for the flag raising ceremony, complete with the singing of O Canada and words from local dignitaries. Join us in taking a moment to reflect on what it means to be Canadian.
After the ceremony, enjoy a free pancake breakfast by the water provided by Heat N Eat, because no Canada Day is complete without good food, good company, and maple syrup.
We encourage everyone to consider biking, walking, or carpooling to Big Bay Dock. With limited space available and a beautiful natural setting, arriving sustainably is a great way to help reduce congestion and keep our shoreline clean and welcoming for all.
After wrapping up at Big Bay, consider making a day of it by exploring the many beautiful spots throughout Georgian Bluffs, from scenic lookouts and forest trails to bayside parks and local landmarks. Whether you're hiking the Bruce Trail, visiting Keppel Croft Gardens or stopping by Farm on the Lake, there's something nearby for every kind of adventurer.
In the evening, head over to Cobble Beach for even more Canada Day fun. Enjoy live music, indulge in wood-fired pizzas and specialty Canadian cocktails, and take in the free fireworks show over Georgian Bay. It's a perfect way to wrap up the day with family and friends.
Thank you to our sponsors, Eh! Tel and Hutten & Co. Landscaping, for helping make this celebration possible. For more information to join the celebration, visit www.georgianbluffs.ca/canadaday.
