Cooling Centres Open to Help Georgian Bluffs Beat the Heat

With temperatures climbing across the region, Georgian Bluffs is encouraging everyone to take steps to stay cool and safe from the heat.

The Shallow Lake Community Centre (SLCC) will be open as a designated cooling centre during operating hours. The centre offers a comfortable, air-conditioned space where residents can take a break from the heat. Council Chambers at the Township Administration Office will also be available to the public for cooling during business hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Residents are reminded to drink plenty of water, avoid outdoor activity during peak heat, wear lightweight clothing, and check in on neighbours and loved ones who may be at risk.

If you need a place to cool off, stop by one of the cooling locations:

• Shallow Lake Community Centre – Open until 10 p.m. on Monday, June 23
• Council Chambers – Township Office, Grey Road 18 – Open Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
