Emery Bridge Reopened Following Replacement Project

Georgian Bluffs is pleased to announce that Emery Bridge, located on Church Sideroad West in the former Township of Sarawak, has reopened following a full bridge replacement.

Originally constructed in the 1950s, Emery Bridge was closed in early 2023 due to significant structural issues, including deck and abutment failure. A full replacement was necessary to restore access and ensure long-term safety.

The new single-lane bridge eliminates the previous load restrictions, improves road safety, and restores direct access to properties, reducing the need for large agricultural equipment to detour along Grey Road 1.

The $2.2 million project was funded through the Township’s capital budget and reserves. Construction began in summer 2025 and was completed this week.

The Township thanks residents for their patience during the closure and construction period.
