Georgian Bluffs Bids a Fond Farewell to CAO Niall Lobley, now Joining Grey County as Deputy CAO

Georgian Bluffs Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Niall Lobley will be moving on from his position with the Township to take on a new role as Deputy CAO with Grey County as of May 20, 2025.

Since joining Georgian Bluffs in 2022, Niall has played a pivotal role in guiding the organization through a period of transformation and growth. His leadership has strengthened the Township’s focus on strategic planning, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. Under his guidance, the Township launched its comprehensive Strategic Plan, View from the Top, which lays out a bold, community-driven vision for the future.

Niall has also championed climate action at the local level, supporting the development of sustainability initiatives and infrastructure improvements that reflect the Township’s commitment to environmental responsibility. He has been a visible and engaged leader, always taking part in community events from Canada Day Celebrations to community clean-ups and fundraisers.

“While we are sad to see Niall go, we are incredibly proud of all that has been accomplished under his leadership,” said Mayor Sue Carleton. “Niall has helped to shape a clear direction for Georgian Bluffs’ future that’s rooted in our community and heritage, and we know he will bring that same collaborative energy and commitment to his new role at Grey County.”

“It has been a true privilege to serve as CAO for Georgian Bluffs. This is a remarkable community, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together. From the dedication of staff to the passion of Council and residents alike, I’ve been inspired every day by the people who make this Township such a special place. I’m looking forward to continuing to support this region through my new role with Grey County.”

The Township is pleased to continue working closely with Niall through ongoing collaboration with Grey County on a range of shared priorities, including transportation, economic development, affordable housing, and climate action.

More information on the process and timeline for filling the CAO position will become available in the coming weeks. In the interim, the staff team will continue to ensure the smooth delivery of Township services and progress on key Council initiatives.
