Georgian Bluffs Lowers Flags in Honour of Indigenous Veterans and Remembrance Day

Georgian Bluffs will lower flags to half-mast at the Township Office and Shallow Lake Arena in recognition of Indigenous Veterans Day on Saturday, November 8, and Remembrance Day on Tuesday, November 11.

On these days, we honour all those who have served and continue to serve in Canada’s Armed Forces, including the many Indigenous veterans who have defended our country. Lowering the flags is a symbol of respect, remembrance, and gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of these brave service members.

The Township Office will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Remembrance Day.

Residents are encouraged to join members of Council and staff in attending local Remembrance Day ceremonies taking place across the region, including in Shallow Lake and Hepworth, Owen Sound, Tara, Wiarton, and Chatsworth.

Coming together as a community to remember helps ensure that the legacy of our veterans lives on for future generations. Lest we forget.
