Notice - Partial Burn Ban Issued

The Inter Township Fire Department has issued a partial open air burn ban, effective immediately, due to the ongoing hot and dry weather conditions. This ban will stay in place until conditions improve.

The ban includes, but is not limited to:

  • Burning brush, wood, or yard waste
  • Demolition Burns of old buildings or structures
  • Agricultural or industrial burning
  • Use of burn barrels
  • Fireworks and sparklers

All Open-Air Burn Permits are now suspended. No new permits will be issued.

What is Still Allowed:

  • Small, supervised campfires used for cooking or warmth in permitted outdoor fireplaces or fire pits.

As always, we ask that if you have a fire, you keep a shovel, water (bucket or hose), or a fire extinguisher nearby.

Please remember that all fires, including fire pits, require a burn permit. Burn Permit Applications and updates on burn bans and fire risk conditions can be found at georgianbluffs.burnpermits.com/.
