Notice: Sidewalk Scanning to Take Place in June

Georgian Bluffs will be conducting sidewalk condition assessments throughout the month of June as part of our ongoing commitment to safe and accessible infrastructure.

Using advanced scooter-mounted sensing technology, StreetScan will collect data to assess the state of sidewalks in the Township. This technology identifies issues such as cracks and tripping hazards, helping staff prioritize repairs and replacements efficiently and fairly.

This work supports the Township’s annual investment of $100,000 in the Sidewalk Replacement Program, a key part of our effort to improve pedestrian safety and maintain community infrastructure.

Sidewalk scanning is non-invasive, and no disruptions to local traffic or pedestrian access are expected. Residents are encouraged to watch for the scanning scooters and allow them space to complete their work safely.
