Sparkle & Skate is Back, Bringing Holiday Fun to the Heart of Georgian Bluffs

Get ready to kick off the festive season with the annual Winter Sparkle & Skate in Shallow Lake! On Friday, November 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., we will once again be lighting up the village with holiday cheer at the Shallow Lake Community Centre.

Not just one, but two majestic trees will be shining bright at the tree lighting ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m., ushering in the spirit of the holidays. Students from the Keppel-Sarawak Choir will be performing seasonal songs to add to the atmosphere, and the Shallow Lake Jr. Hockey team will have refreshments on deck at the concession stand to support the skating club. Families are then invited to lace up and enjoy a free skate on the arena ice, starting at 7:00 p.m.

And that’s not all – Santa Claus himself will make a special appearance! Join us for photos with Santa from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on a real sleigh.

The special holiday edition of the Bluffs Baskets will also be for sale – curated collections of local products with a holiday theme. Each basket features items from 9 local vendors, with a sale price of $75 each, highlighting the flavours, artistry, and spirit of Georgian Bluffs.

The evening will also feature family-friendly games and crafts, and a “Touch-a-Truck” of some of the Township’s vehicles. New and unwrapped toy donations will be collected for the Inter Township Fire Department’s annual toy drive, providing a chance for the community to support those in need this festive season.

There will be more ways to celebrate the festive season in Georgian Bluffs in early December!
