At the Council meeting on Wednesday, February 8, Georgian Bluffs Council approved deferring the renovation for the Kemble Community Centre after receiving an updated cost estimate for the project.

In 2019 the Township received a grant from the Provincial and Federal governments for accessibility and energy upgrades to the Kemble Arena, with a total project budget of $1.7 million.

Georgian Bluffs is pleased to announce the first annual Volunteer of the Year award recipients for 2022.

The volunteer recognition program was established in December of 2021 to thank the many volunteers that contribute to causes and organizations serving the Georgian Bluffs community.

The Public Hearing for Severance Applications B24/22 and B25/22 for the Estate of Muriel McCrabb, scheduled for January 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. has been rescheduled to February 14, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

The Public Meeting for Zoning By-law Amendment Z-18-22 for the Estate of Muriel McCrabb, scheduled for January 18, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. has been rescheduled to February 1, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

The Townships of Chatsworth and Georgian Bluffs are welcoming ownership/partnership proposals for the Derby BioGrid (Biodigester) following a joint Council meeting in December of 2022.

The BioGrid has been jointly owned by the Townships since 2010.

Township of Georgian Bluffs, ON, January 10, 2023 – Enbridge Gas Inc. (Enbridge Gas) is helping the Inter Township Fire Department purchase firefighting training materials, through Safe Community Project Assist–a program with the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) that supplements existing training for Ontario volunteer and composite fire departments in the communities where Enbridge Gas operates. 

At Enbridge Gas, safety is our priority. 

Due to warm temperatures and high precipitation, trails in some areas of Georgian Bluffs have become flooded. This includes the Indian Falls Conservation Area and Georgian Bluffs Multi-Use Trail. 

The Township will be completing roadside ditching work along Kemble Rock Road, south of Concession 20, in the village of Kemble from January 9^th to 18^th, 2023 (weather dependent).

The road will remain open, however there may be traffic delays so please allow extra time for travel.

At their meeting on December 7, 2022 Georgian Bluffs Council appointed Isaac Shouldice to the vacant Councillor seat.

The seat was left vacant when Councillor-elect Mike Smith resigned for health reasons prior to the inauguration ceremony.
