Game On in Georgian Bluffs! Youth Take Over Shallow Lake Arena for Longest Day of Play

Game on in Georgian Bluffs! The Township is hosting the Annual Longest Day of Play Event at Shallow Lake Arena on June 21, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event is all about getting active, having fun, and trying new activities!

The main event this year is the first ever Longest Day of Play Youth Road Hockey Tournament where teams and individuals can register and play in the Round-Robin Style Tournament and win prizes and bragging rights. There are two designated age groups, the first being ages 7 – 9 and the second being ages 10 – 12, but the Township encourages all ages to come out and participate. Make sure you bring a helmet, a stick, and appropriate protective gear. Youth and teams interested in playing in the tournament are encouraged to fill out a registration form on the Township website.

The fun doesn’t stop there; other activities at this event include inflatable games, face painting, a craft table, Just Dance, and the Inter Township Fire Department will be at the event giving kids a chance to meet firefighters and even shoot a fire hose. This year, parents can also enjoy a café stand by the Blended Brew Co. cafe in Shallow Lake.

Festivities will begin at 12:00 p.m. and wrap up around 4:00 p.m. Plan for a sunny day and be sure to bring SPF protection, clothes that can get wet or swimwear, a hat, and a fun-loving attitude.

The Township would also like to encourage youth who are interested in getting involved in this event and gaining volunteer experience to fill out an application form online.
