Georgian Bluffs is Rolling out Waste Carts Beginning in July

Georgian Bluffs is introducing a new cart-based waste collection system that will begin the week of July 6, 2026.

This updated program will replace manual collection and is expected to increase efficiency, and support a cleaner, more sustainable community.

Under the new system, residents will receive carts for garbage, recycling, and organics, with automated collection using modern collection trucks.

What You Need to Know

  • Manual collection will be ending across the Township, and bag tags will no longer be needed.
  • Each household will receive three carts (garbage, recycling, and organics)
  • Weekly organics collection will be introduced
  • Garbage and recycling will be collected every other week
  • Collection days are changing for some residents

A small number of properties on private or cottage roads will continue to receive manual collection due to physical constraints. Residents who will stay on manual collection beyond July 6 will be contacted directly by mail.

Everyone is encouraged to watch their mail and the Township website for details about their new collection day and cart delivery.
