Georgian Bluffs Tradition Returns: Canada Day at Big Bay

Georgian Bluffs Annual Canada Day Celebration at Big Bay dock is set to take place this year on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Residents and guests are invited to take part in the Georgian Bluffs Canada Day tradition of raising the Canadian flag, singing O Canada, and of course enjoying a free Canadian breakfast all on the Big Bay dock to start the holiday off right.

For early birds, at 8:00 a.m., there will be a free Yoga session, taught by Julie Bradley-Lowe from Stonegrove Farm & Wellness Studio, right on the dock at Big Bay. Guests are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats, but there will be a few available for use.

Following yoga, everyone will gather on the dock just after 9:00 a.m., to raise the Canadian flag, sing O Canada, and hear remarks from local dignitaries. After speeches and singing, breakfast will be provided, as per the Big Bay Canada Day tradition. Kid’s will have a chance to meet and greet local firefighter from the Inter Township Fire Department and get creative with Canada Day crafts. This year, there will also be a chance for guests to share what living in Canada means to them with a community gratitude project.

Those who plan on attending the festivities are encouraged to carpool, walk, or bicycle to the event, in order to keep the shoreline clear, and make the most of limited parking space.

The Township would like to thank our event sponsors Hutten Land & Shore, and Eh!Tel, for their generous contributions to this event and community initiatives.
