Join the Spring Community Clean-up and Help Keep Georgian Bluffs Beautiful

Georgian Bluffs is inviting the community to take part once again in a friendly challenge: grab a few friends, head out to a roadside, trail, or public space, and help clean up a corner of the Township.

Running from April 22 to May 12, 2026, the second annual Georgian Bluffs Community Clean-up encourages teams of colleagues, friends, neighbours, and families to pick up litter along ditches, roadsides, and other public spaces that need a little extra care now that the snow has melted. The challenge begins on Earth Day, April 22, and wraps up on Ontario’s Provincial Day of Action on Litter, which falls on May 12 in 2026.

The Township is making it easy to take part by providing free bag tags to registered teams so collected litter can be set out with regular garbage at no cost.

“We had an amazing turnout for the community cleanup last year, with more than 175 participants collecting over 200 bags of litter,” said Riel Warrilow, Environmental Initiatives Officer. “Collective action makes a real and lasting difference, and it’s inspiring to see how much we can accomplish when we all pitch in.”

Participants are encouraged to share before-and-after photos on social media using #TrashTagGB to celebrate their efforts and inspire others to join in.

To get involved, register your team at the Township Office and pick up your free bags and bag tags for litter disposal. Then, share your clean-up photos online using #TrashTagGB.
