Notice: Overnight Oxenden Drinking Water System Maintenance

The Township of Georgian Bluffs advises residents served by the Oxenden Drinking Water Distribution System that a leak detection exercise will be conducted just after midnight on July 17, 2026, between 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.

As part of the Ontario Clean Water Agency’s ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity and reliability of the municipal drinking water system, operators will isolate sections of the distribution network by throttling water main valves to help identify potential leaks.

During the exercise, residents may experience reduced water pressure or temporary fluctuations in water pressure.

Should discoloured water occur, residents are advised to run cold water from all faucets for four to five minutes, or until the water runs clear. Residents should also avoid using hot water and postpone laundry until water clarity has been restored.

The Township appreciates residents’ patience and understanding while this important maintenance activity is carried out and apologizes for any inconvenience.
