Notice: Sidewalks in Kilsyth and Sunset Strip to be Closed for Reconstruction Project
The Township of Georgian Bluffs advises residents that construction for the 2026 Sidewalk Reconstruction Program will begin on August 4, 2026. As a result, sections of sidewalks in Kilsyth (Grey Road 5) and the Sunset Strip (Highway 6 & 21 Corridor) will remain closed until work is complete. The project aims to be complete by September 2026.
Funded through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF), the $100,000 project includes sidewalk replacement and construction at:
- Kilsyth (Grey Road 5): approximately 410 metres.
- Highway 6 & 21 Corridor (Sunset Strip): Approximately 50 metres.
The project will improve pedestrian safety and accessibility while enhancing connectivity and supporting walkable, healthy, and vibrant communities throughout the Township.
During construction, affected sidewalk sections will be closed, and residents can expect temporary detours, construction activity, and occasional traffic disruptions. The public is encouraged to follow posted signage and use caution when travelling near work zones. Construction is expected to be completed by September 2026, weather permitting.
