Notice: Water Main Flushing in Pottawatomi Village – August 19, 2026

Location: Atkins Street, Pottawatomi Village in Township of Georgian Bluffs
Date and Time: Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

As part of routine maintenance and best practices in water system management, the water mains in Pottawatomi Village will be flushed to help improve water quality. Over time, naturally occurring sediment can accumulate within watermains due to low water velocities. Flushing increases water velocity and helps remove these accumulated sediments.

This process involves the use of a tanker truck to force water through the watermains at high velocity and discharge it through blow-off valves until the water runs clear. All discharged water will be dechlorinated prior to entering the storm drainage system.

Please Note:

  • Temporary low water pressure may occur during flushing activities.
  • Some customers may experience temporary discoloured water.
  • If discolouration occurs, run cold water from all faucets for approximately five minutes, or until the water runs clear.
  • Avoid using hot water until the cold water runs clear.
  • Please refrain from doing laundry until water clarity has been restored.
