Notice: Water Main Flushing of East Linton Water Distribution System

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable water supply, the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) will be conducting annual fire hydrant flushing and testing throughout the East Linton Water Distribution System from September 29, 2026, to October 16, 2026. 

This work is an important part of a comprehensive water distribution system maintenance program. During normal operations, water may move slowly through portions of the distribution system, allowing naturally occurring sediment to accumulate within water mains. Flushing hydrants increases water velocity through the system, helping to remove sediment and maintain consistent water quality.

Residents may experience:

• Lower than normal water pressure.
• Temporary water discoloration during the flushing period.

If water discoloration occurs:

• Run a cold water tap for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the water runs clear.
• Do not use hot water until the cold water runs clear.
• Avoid doing laundry until water clarity has been restored to prevent possible staining of clothing.
