Waste Collection Delay - December 29, 2025
Due to today’s snowy conditions, waste collection may not be completed as scheduled. If your waste is not collected today, please bring it back in and set it out again on your next regular collection day. Thank you for your patience.
Significant Weather Event Declared
The Township of Georgian Bluffs has declared a significant weather event due to forecasted and/or observed weather conditions. The declaration is to notify the public that due to the current or forecasted conditions, caution is to be observed when travelling on roads maintained by the Township of Georgian Bluffs, and that it may take longer than usual to bring the condition of the roads back to a state of repair.
We expect delays to waste collection due to the weather and road conditions.
Please use caution and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination. Gravel roads in particular have been impacted by the freeze/thaw cycle, so please be extra cautious on gravel roads. The significant weather event remains in effect until the event is declared to be over.

Holiday Office Closure
The Georgian Bluffs Township offices are closed for the holidays from noon on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, until Friday, January 2, 2026. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 9 a.m.
During this time, please make use of our online services at www.georgianbluffs.ca for any inquiries.

Georgian Bluffs will be expanding the FoodCycler indoor composting program in 2024 pending budget approval, following a successful 12-week pilot that resulted in reduced food waste and a smaller carbon footprint for 100 households.
Georgian Bluffs is pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 Volunteer of the Year awards, celebrating outstanding community contributions.
This recognition program, initiated in December 2021, honours volunteers who have made significant impacts in the Georgian Bluffs community. Each recipient is presented with a certificate, and asked to choose a community organization that will be given a $100 donation in their name.

Today, Enbridge Gas Inc. (Enbridge Gas) and the Inter Township Fire Department, serving Georgian Bluffs and Meaford, announced they are working together to improve home safety and bring fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero.
Get ready to kick off the festive season with a Winter Sparkle & Skate event in the heart of Georgian Bluffs! On Friday, December 1st, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, the Township of Georgian Bluffs is set to illuminate the village with holiday cheer at the Shallow Lake Community Centre.
