Waste Collection Delay - December 29, 2025
Due to today’s snowy conditions, waste collection may not be completed as scheduled. If your waste is not collected today, please bring it back in and set it out again on your next regular collection day. Thank you for your patience.
Significant Weather Event Declared
The Township of Georgian Bluffs has declared a significant weather event due to forecasted and/or observed weather conditions. The declaration is to notify the public that due to the current or forecasted conditions, caution is to be observed when travelling on roads maintained by the Township of Georgian Bluffs, and that it may take longer than usual to bring the condition of the roads back to a state of repair.
We expect delays to waste collection due to the weather and road conditions.
Please use caution and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination. Gravel roads in particular have been impacted by the freeze/thaw cycle, so please be extra cautious on gravel roads. The significant weather event remains in effect until the event is declared to be over.

Holiday Office Closure
The Georgian Bluffs Township offices are closed for the holidays from noon on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, until Friday, January 2, 2026. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 9 a.m.

As temperatures rise and the snow begins to melt, Georgian Bluffs is preparing for the challenges of the spring thaw. The combination of a high snowpack and seasonal rainfall may lead to deteriorating road conditions and flooding risks, particularly in low-lying areas.
The Significant Weather Event declared on March 6, 2025 has now ended.

The Township of Georgian Bluffs has declared a significant weather event due to forecasted and/or observed weather conditions.
Waste Management were unable to complete all collection routes on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
They will be recollecting missed areas on Friday, March 7, 2025. Please have your waste out by 7 a.m., and ensure it is properly tagged and easily visible.
Weight restrictions of 5 tonne per axle will be implemented on Township roads in Georgian Bluffs starting Tuesday, March 4, 2025, for the spring season. These restrictions will remain in effect until May 1, 2025 or until conditions allow for the restrictions to be removed.
Waste Management have advised us that they were unable to complete Mondays collection, which was collections for both Monday, and missed collections the week prior.
They are continuing the collection this week on Wednesday, 26th February and have confirmed they will be collecting both recycling and waste, and acknowledge that residents may have excess waste given that collections have been delayed for two weeks now.

The Significant Weather Event declared on February 7, 2025, has now ended.
With road closures in place across the region and staff unable to travel safely, Georgian Bluffs will be closing the Administrative Office and all facilities, including the Kemble, Kilsyth, and Shallow Lake arenas, for the remainder of the day. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are advising against all non-essential travel due to hazardous road conditions, blowing snow, and low visibility.
Township facilities are closed for the rest of the day, Monday, February 17th, due to weather conditions. Al programming at Shallow Lake Arena, including Minor Hockey, is cancelled for the rest of the day. Programming at Kilsyth and Kemble community centers is also cancelled for the rest of the day.
