Waste Cart Rollout

Starting in the July of 2026, your curbside waste pickup is getting overhauled. We’ll be switching to wheeled carts for garbage, recycling, and organics pickup. Garbage collection will move to bi-weekly pickup, and bag tags will be eliminated.

Collection days are also changing as we move to a new, more streamlined system. Here’s what these changes mean for you, and how to get ready.

Notice: Bag Tag Refunds

Refunds will be available from July 2 to September 30, 2026, for unused bag tags that are in good condition and match the current Township design. Residents will receive the current purchase price of $2.25 per tag.

Cash refunds will be provided for returns of between four and 20 bag tags. Residents returning 21 or more bag tags will receive their refund by cheque.

Refunds can can be made at the Township Office, 177964 Grey Road 18, Owen Sound, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
