Spring Road Conditions

Please use caution on local roads as spring thaw and recent precipitation has lead to water pooling on roadways and soft road conditions.

Remember to slow down and watch for water over the road, standing water, and other changing conditions. Gravel roads in particular are soft and wet during this time of year, which can make travel more difficult.

Township crews are monitoring road conditions closely. Please report any concerns such as washouts, flooding, or unsafe road conditions through Contact GB so they can be addressed as quickly as possible.

Drivers are encouraged to check Municipal 511 for current road closures and conditions before travelling.

We appreciate your assistance in reporting issues, and encourage everyone to drive with caution as road conditions can change quickly during the spring thaw.

Getting Ready

Waste collection in Georgian Bluffs is changing starting July 2026. Taking a few simple steps now will help you get ready and avoid any disruption to your service.

What You Need to Do Now

You do not need to take action right away, but there are a few things to keep in mind as we get closer to the transition.

  • Only purchase the bag tags you need, as they will no longer be accepted after July 2026.
  • Start thinking about where you will store your carts once they arrive.
  • Watch for updates from the Township by mail, and sign up for email updates or follow our social media to receive notifications.

You will receive important information by mail in the coming months.

This information will include:

  • Your new collection schedule
  • Details about your carts and waste sorting
  • Instructions to help you prepare

Please review this information carefully when it arrives and keep it for reference.

Get Ready for Cart Delivery

Your new carts will be delivered between:

  • June 8 and June 27, 2026

Before delivery:

  • Make sure there is space on your property to store your carts
  • Think about a convenient location near your driveway
  • Plan how you will move your carts to the road on collection day

You do not need to be home to receive your carts.

Attend a Public Information Centre (PIC)

We encourage you to attend our upcoming Public Information Centre to learn more about the new waste collection system.

  • Location: Shallow Lake Community Centre
  • Time: 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

At the PIC, you can:

  • Ask questions
  • Learn how the new system works
  • See examples of the carts
  • Get help preparing for the change

Attend the Pop-up at Spring in to Moreston's Outdoor Expo

The Township of Georgian Bluffs, along with representatives from Waste Management, will be at Grey Roots Museum's Spring into Moreston featuring Voices for Climate Action. We will have sample bins AND one of the new waste pickup trucks onsite so you can ask questions and find out more about the changing service.
