14th Street West Rehabilitation
The Township of Georgian Bluffs has initiated a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to facilitate the rehabilitation of a portion of 14th Street West, approximately 345 metres, extending from the Pottawatomi River, to 13th Street West.
14th Street West is an aging infrastructure that requires significant rehabilitation to meet current safety and functional standards. This road serves as a key transportation route, facilitating local and regional traffic flow while providing access to various residential and commercial properties.
This project is being undertaken to enhance long-term road safety and ensure the continued stability of the surrounding infrastructure.
Project Details
- Location: A portion of 14th Street West, approximately 345 metres, from the Pottawatomi River east/west to 13th Street West.
- Project Status: Engineering works are anticipated to commence shortly.
- Closure Date: Yet to be determined.
The Township of Georgian Bluffs is initiating engineering works related to the reconstruction of 14th Street West. This work includes, to start, issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) and subsequent tender award for consulting services.
The scope of services will include pre-engineering investigations, detailed design, tender preparation, and contract administration for the reconstruction of this critical transportation route within the Township. The project will also consider associated roadway improvements.
Further updates will be provided as the project progresses through the engineering, design, and procurement phases.
Budget
- Approved 2026 Budget Allocation: $2.2 million for 14th Street West, preparing for future rehabilitation.
- Additional Funding: Any costs exceeding the allocated budget will require Council approval.
