The Significant Weather Event issued on Monday, January 27 has now been lifted, and all closed roads have been reopened.

Our plow operators continue working hard to manage the impacts of winter weather following more overnight snowfall and continued strong winds. While route completion was slightly slower due to the past few days of heavy accumulation, all routes were completed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding today as we worked to address the impacts of this week’s high snowfall and blowing snow. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated plow operators, who have been working hard since 2 a.m. to make our roads accessible and safe.

Georgian Bluffs invites residents to bring their voices and perspectives to the Multi-Municipal Energy Working Group (MMEWG). Council is seeking applications from engaged community members to fill one (1) vacancy on this collaborative initiative.

Due to the significant snowfall and blowing snow on Monday, January 27, waste collection on the following roads was missed. A make-up collection will take place on Saturday, February 1. Please ensure all waste and recycling is placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, and to keep bins clear of snowbanks and roadways to ensure efficient collection.

Due to forecasted weather conditions, the Georgian Bluffs Administration Office will close at 1:00 p.m. today, Monday, January 27. Waste collection is also delayed and may not be completed as scheduled. Trucks will continue operating as long as conditions allow. All Arenas and Community Centres are also closed.

The Township of Georgian Bluffs has declared a significant weather event due to forecasted and/or observed weather conditions.

Georgian Bluffs Facilities Closure - January 21st

Given the significant weather event, Georgian Bluffs Administration Office will not be open today, January 21st. 

Further, Shallow Lake Arena will be closed today, January 21st. Parent and Tot skate at 1030am and the Adult Skate at 3pm are cancelled. Groups with bookings will be contacted about their bookings.

The Community Centers at Derby and Kemble will not be open today. Public drop in Pickleball at Derby is cancelled at 10am today. Groups with bookings will be contacted.
